This afternoon, Fizulic met Italy's Minister of Industry and
Foreign Trade, Enrico Letta.
In the first trimester of 2000 Italy became Croatia's most
important foreign trade partner, accounting for 19 percent of
Croatia's overall foreign trade.
The two ministers agreed that cooperation in the areas of power
industry, banking, tourism and infrastructure projects should
continue.
Letta reiterated Italy's support for Croatia's admission to the
World Trade Organisation and subsequently the European Union,
emphasising Italy's support for the expansion of the trilateral
initiative Italy-Slovenia-Hungary to Croatia.
He called on Croatia to participate in an international conference
on tourism, to be held in Rome this October.
Fizulic invited Letta to pay a return visit to Croatia, which will
probably take place in January 2001.
