A delegation of the Confederation, which is an association of Danish employers, should visit Croatia in the first half of 2001 to hold talks with Croatian businessmen in view of formulating concrete possibilities for Danish investments in Croatia's economy. The Croatian delegation today visited the plant of the Carslberg brewery. During talks, Carlsberg's representatives said they would like to increase their share in beer production on the Croatian market. They have a ten-percent share in Croatian brewery Panonska Pivovara, as co-owners with Croatian food manufacturer Podravka. Croatia's Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic held talks at Denmark's Ministry of Finance, where he appealed for financial support necessary to open a Danish embassy in Zagreb. Denmark's Foreign Ministry is already advocating this initiative, and the embassy is expected to be opened before 2002, when Denmark assumes presidency over the European Union. (hina) ha jn
