SIKIRICA RESPONSIBLE FOR CRIMES COMMITTED IN KERATERM PRISON CAMP

SARAJEVO, June 25 (Hina) - Dusko Sikirica, a Bosnian Serb war crimes suspect arrested early on Sunday by Stabilisation Force (SFOR) troops, could be the person most responsible for war crimes committed in the infamous prison camp Keraterm near Prijedor, western Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Sarajevo media reported. Sikirica, who was on a list of persons publicly indicted by the Hague war crimes tribunal for crimes committed during the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, was the commander of the Keraterm prison camp, where a large number of non-Serb prisoners was tortured and killed. According to scanty information on the arrest warrant, Sikirica was born in 1964 and was called by the nickname 'Sikira' (Hatchet).
