Sikirica, was accused of crimes against humanity, violation of the law and customs of war, and the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war. Sikirica will be transferred to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague. The arrest was carried out by the Banja Luka-based SFOR Multinational Division South-West, which is under British command. Sikirica was on a list of persons for whom public arrest warrants had been issued, and his last known place of residence was Prijedor near Banja Luka.
