MESIC GETS CREDENTIALS OF BRAZILIAN, MALAYSIAN AND CHILEAN AMBASSADORS

ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Friday received credentials of the ambassadors of Brazil, Malaysia and Chile to Croatia, the President's Office reported. The incoming Brazilian Ambassador Sergio Duarte said Croatia and his country had managed to develop successful bilateral relations in a short period but he assessed it was necessary to promote further their economic ties. Mesic told him that although Croatia's strategic goal was to enter the European Union, Croatia did not neglect the importance of promoting co-operation with other states. Malaysian Ambassador Mohamad bin Sani said his country and Croatia had developed good economic relations and recalled that Malaysia Airlines had opted for Zagreb as its first destination for the company's flights to central and eastern Europe.
