OSIJEK, June 21 (Hina) - At a meeting with Agriculture Minister Bozidar Pankretic on Wednesday, Croatian farmers threatened to stage protest rallies after the harvest if the government failed to accept their request that the
purchasing price of wheat amount to one kuna per kilogram. The government will buy wheat from farmers at a price of 0.92 kuna per kilogram and from agricultural companies at a price of 0.75 kuna per kilogram. Leaders of the Association of Farmers of Slavonija and Baranja (ZUSSB) harshly criticised the government's model of purchase, claiming the purchasing price could not cover production costs, which rose to 4,800 kuna per hectare due to increased prices of production material.(hina) jn rml
