ZAGREB, June 21 (Hina) - Many mistakes and irregularities were committed in privatisation which competent bodies failed to prosecute sufficiently and which make an audit imperative, Croatian Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic said on
Wednesday. The privatisation did not have the expected positive effect on the economy, Fizulic told parliament's House of Representatives presenting a government-motioned privatisation audit bill. The parliamentary bench of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) also motioned a privatisation audit bill proposing auditing all privatised companies. The government motioned that the audit cover only companies for which an audit was requested due to suspicion in illegal operations during privatisation. Both the government and HDZ agreed the auditing should be done by the State Audit Bureau.(hina) ha jn
