BENKOVAC, June 14 (Hina) - Mrs Julia Malope, the widow of the killed South African mine removal expert David Malope, on Wednesday toured the site where her husband had lost his life in the village of Pristeg, southern Croatia. Mr.
Malope, an employee with the South African company "Mechen", was killed in a mine blast while he was engaged in jobs of humanitarian mine clearance in southern Croatia, on 22 October 1998. David Malope was the first international guide of dogs used for detecting mine-infested sites. His two dogs were first dogs of this kind to come in Croatia for this purpose. Upon her arrival, Mrs Malope took a lump of Croatia soil and will fetch it to South Africa to throw over her husband's grave, according to local customs.
