DJAKOVO IN TRIBUTE TO HOLOCAUST VICTIMS DJAKOVO, June 4 (Hina) - A traditional commemorative service was performed on Sunday at the Jewish cemetery in the eastern Croatian town of Djakovo to pay tribute to victims of the Holocaust,
including victims of the 1941-1942 Ustashi concentration camp in Djakovo. The religious service was held by Rabbi Kotel Danon. Besides representatives of Jewish communities from Osijek, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Belgrade, present at the commemoration were the head of the Co-ordination of Jewish municipalities in Croatia, Ognjen Kraus, and a MP in Sabor, Vilim Herman. Kraus said victims of the Holocaust should be a permanent warning to the humanity in order that such crime, committed over Jews in World War Two, never happens again. Herman, a deputy of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) to the national parliament, described the achievements of anti-Fascist struggle as the ABC of human rights. Participant

Participants in the commemoration laid wreaths before the memorial
plaque in the Jewish chapel, and toured this Jewish cemetery unique
in the world for having preserved the names of the victims. They
