The 35th "Floraart", which lasts until Sunday, June 4, is held on
more than two hectares of outdoor and 3,000 square metres of indoor
area.
Ante Ledic, director of 'Zrinjevac' company, which organises the
event, informed the audience at the ceremonial opening of the
features of this event which will include a competition of
florists, a balloon festival, and an award-giving ceremony.
Declaring the show open, Josip Kregar, the Government's
commissioner for Zagreb, said this city would lose its soul and
spirit without flowers. "Florart" and flowers are not only
accessories to the image of Zagreb, but they are also a mark of the
culture and civilisation a part of which we are, he said.
