Prime Minister Ivica Racan, Government Commissioner for Zagreb Josip Kregar thanked the Government for its trust, his assistants, members of the state and city electoral commissions, and Zagreb residents. At Kregar's proposal, the oldest councillor attending today's session, Franjo Zenko, took over the chairmanship of the Assembly until the election of its new president. After the Assembly established its agenda, a credentials commission, headed by Ivan Sikic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected.
