JASEN DRNASIN - FIRST CROAT TO GRADUATE FROM WEST POINT

WEST POINT WEST POINT, May 28 (Hina) - 1st Lieutenant Jasen Drnasin is the first Croatian officer to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Saturday's graduation ceremony at West Point was attended, among others, by Croatia's Ambassador to the United States, Miomir Zuzul, and a Croatian Defence Ministry delegation visiting the USA, headed by Deputy Defence Minister Zlatko Gareljic. This year, 943 young officers graduated from West Point. They will continue their military service mostly in the US Army and in about a dozen other countries. 1st Lieutenant Drnasin will soon return to Croatia, where he is expected to take over a unit in the Croatian Army's 4th Brigade. Yesterday's ceremony at West Point was also addressed by US Vice President Al Gore.
