BERLIN BERLIN, May 27 (Hina) - A monument commemorating Croatian writer Marko Marulic, made by sculptor Slavomir Drinkovic, was unveiled at a ceremony held in Berlin's Wilmersdorf district on Saturday. The monument is a gift by the
City of Split and Croats living in Germany to the City of Berlin. About 1,000 Berlin residents, who attended the event, were addressed by officials from Split and Berlin, who emphasised that Marulic was a great man not only of Croatian but of European literature as well. Participating in the ceremony were also the men's choir 'Brodosplit' and 'Filip Devic' Dalmatian harmony-singing group from Split, which is also to perform at the Festival of Nations in Berlin's Prague Square on Saturday evening. A delegation of the City of Split, which is on a three-day visit to the German capital, on Friday held successful talks at the Berlin City Chamber of Commerce.(hina) rml
