ZAGREB, May 25 (Hina) - The Croatian National Parliament's House of Representatives on Thursday adopted amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax and laws by which contribution tariffs for health and pension insurance are reduced by
two per cent points. The most important change to the VAT Law was an extension of the deadline for the payment of taxes from the 10th to the end of the month. The law on health and pension contributions reduces payment tariffs by two per cent. Pension insurance is thus reduced from 10.75 to 8.75 per cent, and health insurance contributions from 9 to 7 per cent. The laws will come into effect on June 1. The adoption of the laws was preceded by an exhaustive discussion during which MPs insulted each other's parties, and the chairing, vice-president of the parliament, Mato Arlovic, handed out reprimands, including one to himself.(hina) lml jn
