BASKA-Diplomacija SEMINAR "900 YEAR OF BASKA STONE TABLET" STARTS BASKA, May 18 (Hina) - A two-day science meeting called "900 years of the Baska Stone Tabled" started in Baska, a town on the northern Adriatic island of Krk, Thursday.
The meeting is attended by about 20 well-respected Croatian historians, linguists and art historians. On behalf of the Organisation committee, the seminar, which is being held under the auspices of the Croatian President, Milivoj Dujmovic and Petar Strcic greeted the present. The Baska Stone Tablet, dating from 11th century and written in the old Croatian Glagolitic script, is the oldest written monument of the Croatian culture It was discovered in the Benedictine convent of St Lucia in Jurandvor near Baska.
