SPANISH TALGO TRAIN ON TEST RIDE FROM ZAGREB TO RIJEKA

ZAGREB TO RIJEKA ZAGREB, May 15 (Hina) - Representatives of the Spanish company Talgo S.A. and Croatian Railway (HZ) in Zagreb on Monday presented the train Talgo-TPI-200, produced in Spain. The presentation also included a test ride from Zagreb to Rijeka and back. Over the past two weeks, Talgo train test rides were held on HZ railways between Zagreb and Split and Zagreb and Rijeka. The test rides on both lines lasted an hour less than they last now. The Talgo develops speed of up to 200 km/ph and has a break system similar to the ABS system in vehicles. It can adjust the space between the wheels and very easily pass any curve and it is therefore suitable for winding railways such as the one running from Zagreb to the coast. Representatives of the Madrid-based company Patentes Talgo stressed the possibility of further economic cooperation, adding they counted on Croatian industrial production. Deputy Prim

Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic, who attended today's presentation, said the new technologies showed the railway was not history. Granic believes concrete projects by the HZ could soon be discussed by the Government and the Government would approve them. (hina) jn rml
