"We shall buy a few similar or same trains, and first to be equipped with them is the Split-Zagreb railway line which needs at least five trains of this kind," Minister Tusek said. Station, were Croatian Transport, Communications and Maritime
Affairs Minister Alojz Tusek and the Croatian Railways Management
Chairman Dragutin Subat, who announced that such trains would be
added to the transport on Croatian railroads in the end of 2001.
"We shall buy a few similar or same trains, and first to be equipped
with them is the Split-Zagreb railway line which needs at least five
trains of this kind," Minister Tusek said.
Currently, a journey by train from the Croatian capital to the
biggest coastal city takes normally eight to nine hours.
Subat said a train of this kind, produced by another manufacturer,
would be promoted at this railway line next month, and announced
that such vehicles can cover the distance from Split to Zagreb in
about four hours after the railway line is repaired.
