During the afternoon part of the session participants will discuss priorities in the transition process of countries in the region. Macedonian Premier Ljubco Gregorijevski and Bulgarian Deputy premier Peter Zotev will speak about their countries' experiences. A closed-door meeting will also take place focusing on the future of
the Southeast of Europe in a unified Europe.
Organisers are hoping to obtain a comprehensive assessment of the
achieved hitherto and suggestions for the further work of the
Stability Pact for the region.
Attending the conference will also be EU representative Javier
Solana, UN Deputy Secretary-General Louise Frechette, UN special
envoy for the Balkans, Carl Bildt, Secretary-General of the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Jan
Kubis, several senior officials of the State Department and
representatives of countries and governments of all countries of
the Southeast of Europe, apart from Yugoslavia.
Representatives of the Serbian Opposition have been invited to the
meeting.
