SZEKESFEHERVAR, April 28 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic, who is attending the seventh summit of the presidents of central European countries in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, met Romanian President Emil Constantinescou ahead of the
beginning of the summit on Friday. The meeting tackled the development of overall relations between Croatia and Romania, with emphasis on the possibility of expanding economic cooperation and trade. The two presidents also discussed the possibility of sub-regional cooperation by establishing a trilateral group Romania-Hungary-Croatia. They also agreed on mutual assistance in entering the European Union and NATO (Romania is a member of NATO's Partnership for Peace programme) and intensifying bilateral exchange and communication.
