ZAGREB, April 18 (Hina) - Twenty seven prisoners of Serb nationality in the Lepoglava prison in northern Croatia are on a hunger strike as of Monday, the Croatian Justice, Local Government and Self-government Ministry reported
Tuesday. The convicts said that the reason for the strike was a wrong implementation of the Amnesty Law and not acting in line with an agreement on exchange, signed by then Croatian and Yugoslav foreign ministers Mate Granic and Zivadin Jovanovic, the statement read. The statement also read that convicts had no objections to the treatment they had been receiving in the Lepoglava prison, however, they stressed the hunger strike is the only way for them to solve their problems.(HINA) IT JN
