much better than in previous years. About 50,000 arrivals are expected on the Croatian Adriatic coast between Easter and May-day holidays, which is twice the number of tourists in 1998 and a considerably better result than the year before, when the number of arrivals was not as expected due to the Kosovo crisis. A total of 20,870 tourists are expected to visit resorts in Istria County during Easter holidays, which accounts for 74,700 overnight stays, the county tourism board reported. About 50,000 arrivals are expected on the Croatian Adriatic coast
between Easter and May-day holidays, which is twice the number of
tourists in 1998 and a considerably better result than the year
before, when the number of arrivals was not as expected due to the
Kosovo crisis.
A total of 20,870 tourists are expected to visit resorts in Istria
County during Easter holidays, which accounts for 74,700 overnight
stays, the county tourism board reported. The county realised

1998 respectively.
According to data from the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Tourism
Board, 13,000 arrivals (mostly from Italy, Germany, Austria and
Slovenia) are expected for Easter holidays. Also added to this
number should be another 11,000 tourists, mainly Slovenians, who
will visit Kvarner and the Kvarner riviera during May-Day
holidays.
About 1,000 tourists, mostly from Italy, will visit hotels in Zadar
County.
Some 700 boaters will visit marinas in Zadar, Biograd, Pag, and
Bibinje-Sukosan, whereas about 1,000 holiday makers will visit the
national park Paklenica.
About 5,000 tourists, of whom 80 percent are foreigners, are
expected to stay at some 25 open hotels (with 7,000 beds) in Split-
Dalmatia County. The number of arrivals is expected to increase
during May-Day holidays and another hotel will be opened in Komiza
on the island of Vis. It is expected that most arrivals will be from
Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
Although resorts in Dubrovnik-Neretva County did not realise any
significant tourism turnover in the past several years, this year
the county is expecting some 7,000 arrivals, mostly from Belgium,
Germany, and Great Britain.
