ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - The Croatian National Sabor's House of Counties ended its Tuesday session by the establishment of the agenda of about 20 items and positive voting on several bills which confirm international conventions and
agreements. President of the Upper House Katica Ivanisevic informed representatives of conclusions of the Upper House presidency (president and vice presidents of the house, and presidents of committees) regarding "an alleged initiative" for amendments to the Constitution. President of the Upper House Katica Ivanisevic informed
representatives of conclusions of the Upper House presidency
(president and vice presidents of the house, and presidents of
committees) regarding "an alleged initiative" for amendments to
the Constitution. The Upper House presidency reminded that, in line
with current Constitutional regulations, each motion on amendments
to the Constitution must be evaluated by the House of Counties.
The Upper House presidency said that statements of Veljko Mratovic,
a members of the Croatian President's team of experts for
constitutional changes, were inappropriate, adding that Mratovic
evaluated the role and work of the Upper House without arguments.
In line with a motion of the team of experts, gathered by the
President of the State, the House of Counties would be dissolved.
The Croatian National Sabor's House of Counties is to continue its
40th session on Wednesday by a discussion on about ten bills,
including amendments to a law on interior affairs, and a bill on
customs tariff.
The session's agenda also includes cooperation between Croatia and
the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia
(ICTY).
