receiving their wages, however, it could not accept blackmail and
pressures by PIK Vrbovec agricultural coop employees who blocked
road traffic near Vrbovec, some 40 kilometres east of Zagreb last

Had they blocked the railway, the Government would most likely

stressed.
"The Government accepts the dissatisfaction of employees expressed
by protests staged near factories and outside the Government's
building, however, it condemns the blockade of traffic", Linic
stressed and adding that PIK employees blackmailed the Government,
jeopardised safety of citizens, and caused damage to companies.
Linic told a press conference that the Government would conduct
talks with trade unions to examine ways of expressing employees'
dissatisfaction.
PIK Vrbovec employees on Monday stopped a several-day blockade of
road traffic in Vrbovec area and decided not to block the Zagreb-
Budapest railway, after receiving a letter which read that funds
for two advance payrolls and travel expenses for January and
February have paid to PIK Vrbovec direct transfer account.
