SLAVONSKI BROD, April 7 (Hina) - Displaced Croats from Bosanska Posavina held a meeting in Croatia's Slavonski Brod Friday when they expressed wish to return to their pre-war homes, now in the Bosnian Serb entity of Republika Srpska.
Representatives of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) also attended the meeting. Vice-president of the Croatian National Parliament Mato Arlovic told reporters after the meeting that displaced Croats from Bosanska Posavina had reiterated their wish to return to their homes. According to him, it was very important to respect the wish for return of every displaced person, and it is up to the authorities to do everything so the wishes for return could be realised. According to Lovre Pejkovic of the Government Office for Refugees
and Displaced Persons, thanks to funds collected at the
international funding conference in Brussels, around 7,500 Bosnian
Croats will be able to return from Croatia to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
