WASHINGTON, April 4 (Hina) - "Pontanima", a mixed choir from Sarajevo, held a concert at Washington's Kennedy Centre on Monday. The concert, which is held within the choir's two-week tour in the United States, attracted many lovers of
spiritual music. Like the music they perform, members of the choir are of different ethnic background and religion, which, they say, bears witness to the rich diversity of their country. At their first concert in Washington, the choir performed Islamic, Catholic, Orthodox, and Jewish religious songs, as well as several compositions by Haendel, Mokranjac, Mozart and Schubert. The choir will hold another concert in the open in front of the Congress building and at the Church of Immaculate Conception. The US tour includes Boston, New York, Washington and several smaller towns in Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana, and ends in Chicago.(hina) rml
