Swimming in the Panonian Sea 13 million years ago, this whale got
stranded in the area of the nowadays Zagreb suburb of Podsused. Its
fossilised remains were discovered in the 19th century.
For ten years, authors of the exhibition - Zoran Gregl, Nenad
Jandric and Zeljko Kovacic - have been conducting an action called
"Zagreb Before Its Birth" presenting casts of fossilised remains or
of monuments found on the Zagreb area's archaeological sites. To
date, eight castings have been set up in the city within this
action.
The purpose of the show in the Zagreb Museum is to find sponsors for
casts of the whale so that they can be set up in Podsused.
