ZAGREB ZAGREB, April 1 (Hina) - An exhibition of photos called "From the History of the Croatian Diaspora" was staged in the renovated facilities of the Croatian 'Matica Iseljenika' (The Croatian Institute for Emigration) in Zagreb on
Friday. The show includes some 300 photos taken in overseas countries in the 20th century. Some of them present the embarkation of emigrants on liners, their settlements in America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, said the head of the "Matica Iseljenika", Ante Beljo at the opening of the exhibition. Beljo spoke of the importance of the renovated offices, adding that the Institute and the Government had ensured about 2 million kuna for this purpose. A former long-standing head of Croatian Catholic priests who are in
missions in the Croatian Diaspora, Vladimir Stankovic, said that in
the 20th century, 122 Croatian Catholic missions and 70 pastoral
offices had been established abroad.
