Covic says HDZ BIH ready to form governments with SDP and SDA

MOSTAR, July 5 (Hina) - The leader of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) expressed the readiness of his party to agree with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) to form governments at the state level and in two cantons in the Bosnian Croat-Muslim federation in order to put an end to the ten-month crisis in the country. The HDZ BiH leader said this during his talks with Thomas Countryman, the United States' Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, on Tuesday in Sarajevo.

Covic was quoted by the local media in Mostar as saying that the talks had revolved around solutions regarding the establishment of the governments in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and Central Bosnian Canton.

We believe that in the Council of Ministers (the state government) the government should be made up by parties that have representatives in the collegiums of the two houses of the state parliament respecting the election results, Covic said.
