GOVT TO ACCEPT SOME AMENDMENTS BUT WON'T INCREASE BUDGET - FIN MIN

ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - Croatia's Government will adopt a smaller part of a total of 432 amendments that members of the parliament proposed to a draft 2000 budget, but the Government will not raise budgetary expenses, said Finance Minister Mato Crkvenac ahead of Wednesday's session of the Government behind the closed doors. Sectors where changes in the internal allocation can occur to meet some demands of Sabor deputies are public health, transportation and communications, education and social welfare. The deputies' amendments meant additional requests for over three billion kuna (some $380 million) of budgetary expenditure, Crkvenac said adding that expenses must not go over 48.3 billion kuna (about six billion dollars), what the Government envisaged in its draft. The final version of this year's draft budget is to be presented to the Sabor's House of Counties on Wednesday afternoon
