PULA, March 14 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic announced Tuesday that most of the presidential residences on the island of Brijuni (north Adriatic) should be commercialised and orientated towards tourism. Mesic, who is
visiting Pula on Tuesday to attend the 17th session of the World Veteran Federation's permanent committee for European issues, voiced his opinion about Brijuni during talks with Pula's Mayor, Giancarlo Zupic. During the half-hour meeting, Zupic informed Mesic about the situation in Pula's economy, social problems and the drawing up of the city's new urban development plan which is connected with the city's negotiations with the Defence Ministry about transforming military facilities into civilian ones.(hina) lml mm
