ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - The Amnesty International Croatia and group for women's rights B.a.B.e. on Wednesday called upon the Government to sign an additional protocol to the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of all forms
of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The additional protocol is an important mechanism which enables women, whose rights were violated according to the CEDAW, to turn to the UN committee for elimination of all forms of discrimination of women. The protocol was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in late 1999. So far, 23 countries signed the protocol.
