ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - Amnesty International Croatia (AIH) on Saturday held its annual assembly in Zagreb. Representatives of local branches of the AIH from several Croatian cities and towns, present at the assembly, endorsed a
report on activities of this organisation and a financial report for last year. After a discussion they adopted the annual plan and budget for 2000, the AIH public relations office said on Saturday night. This year Amnesty International Croatia will continue to accept more members, launch campaigns for protection of victims of the human rights violations throughout world and promote human rights in Croatia. In 2000 it will seek possibilities for men to be in civilian services during the compulsory conscription, publish books for education in the human rights field and join the world-wide action against torture.(hina) ms
