PRESIDENT MESIC STOPS BY 'CHARLIE' COFFEE SHOP IN DOWNTOWN ZAGREB

ZAGREB ZAGREB, Feb 22 (Hina) - Fulfilling his promise, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic stopped by 'Charlie' coffee house in downtown Zagreb on Tuesday morning. Numerous reporters used the occasion to ask Mesic about today's meeting with a delegation of the Croatian Judges' Association and the appointment of advisors. Mesic said the delegation of the Croatian Judges' Association had informed him about their status and their views regarding a bill on the reduction of judges' salaries. "It is difficult to say how much I can be of assistance regarding that matter, because democracy is a procedure... and this matter must be sent into procedure," Mesic said. Asked about the appointment of his advisors, Mesic said he, too, had heard about speculations and would make a decision on that matter soon.
