ZAGREB, Feb 13 (Hina) - The National Electoral Commission on Sunday evening published complete results for the Croatian presidential election. Of a total of 4,252,921 registered voters, 2,589,120 or 60.88 per cent went to the polls.
There were 2,559,341 or 98.85 percent valid ballots and 29,779 or 1.15 percent invalid ballots. Stjepan Mesic, candidate of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), won 1,433,372 or 56.01 percent of the vote, whereas his rival Drazen Budisa of the Croatian Social Liberal Party/Social Democratic Party (HSLS/SDP) bloc won 1,125,969 or 43.99 percent of the vote. The Commission also announced results of the repeated voting at a polling station in Karlobag, held today. Of 491 registered voters, 86 voters or 17.52 percent went to the polls. There were 85 valid ballots and one invalid ballot. Mesic won 73 or 85.88 percent of the vote whereas Budisa won 12 or 14.12 percent.(hina) rml
