ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Jozo Rados on
Friday received a United States delegation headed by Robert
Frowick, the U.S. state secretary's deputy special envoy for the
implementation of the Dayton peace agreement.
Minister Rados told reporters talks focused on the previously
established and well-developed U.S.-Croatian co-operation, and on
ways of intensifying military cooperation.
"We have also talked about political relations, the new (Croatian)
government's attitude towards BH (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and Croats
in BH," said Rados.
Frowick told reporters he was looking forward to co-operation with
Croatia's new leadership in overcoming some problems from the past,
in connection with obstructions to Dayton agreement implementation
on the part of the Bosnian and Croat leadership in BH.
A stronger implementation of the Dayton agreement will lead to a
more rapid access of Croatia to NATO's Partnership for Peace
programme, he asserted.
Voicing deep satisfaction with the fact that an already strong
military cooperation was now being upgraded, Frowick said he was
looking forward to the strengthening of bilateral relations and
joint efforts aimed at the strengthening of military cooperation
which would result in Croatia joining Partnership for Peace.
Both officials said they also agreed on some concrete steps for the
future.
