FIRST ROUND OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION REPEATED AT 2 POLLING STATIONS

ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Hina) - The first round of Croatia's presidential election is being repeated on Sunday at two polling stations, in Zagreb and Otocac. The January 24 electoral round is being repeated due to there being in ballot boxes at the two said polling stations more ballots than voters. The two polling stations, open between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., have a total of 1,635 registered voters, so the National Electoral Commission believes the result of today's voting will not affect the first round's results. The first round saw nine candidates running for president. Since none won the necessary majority, a run-off has been called for February 7 for Drazen Budisa and Stipe Mesic, the two who won the most votes.(hina) ha
