Committee representatives to agree on how to complete the Croatia
report.
According to new suggestions, CoE rapporteurs could visit Zagreb in
the second half of April to prepare their final report for the June
session.
The CoE Parliamentary Assembly at today's session adopted CoE
monitors' reports on Croatia, with very positive assessments of
January 3 parliamentary elections and the first round of
presidential elections.
The CoE Monitoring Committee at a January 12 meeting in Paris
positively assessed reports on Croatia's compliance with
undertaken obligations in line with deadlines.
Besides expected reforms in the field of the electronic media and
the status of Croatian Television, and progress in refugee returns,
Croatia's remaining principal obligation refers to the revision of
the Constitutional Law on the Rights of Ethnic Communities and
National Minorities. Compliance with this could result in the
termination of CoE monitoring.
