outcome will determine what kind of politics will prevail and how
stable the political system will be, Voice 2000 spokesman Vladimir
Primorac said in Zagreb on Friday.
Voice 2000 is a non-governmental organisation whose aim is to
incite people to vote at the January 24 presidential elections in
order to ensure a democratic establishment of executive and
legislative authority.
The process of democratic constituting of bodies of state authority
is not over, Primorac said. "It is therefore important who and how
he will perform the function of President of the Republic which,
according to constitutional powers, is a significant factor in the
system of state authority in Croatia," he explained.
Primorac said the main tasks of Voice 2000 were to acquaint the
Croatian public with the importance of the presidential elections,
to urge voters to cast their ballot, and to point to the negative
effects of non-voting.
Voice 2000 will also incite citizens to take part in observing the
elections.
Primorac stressed Voice 2000 did not support any presidential
candidate, but reproached Anto Djapic for "accusing other
candidates of alleged police files, while he himself (is) a proved
plagiariser."
Primorac reproached Stipe Mesic for his "unfair treatment of
journalists."
