ZAGREB, Dec 10 (Hina) - On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, Amnesty International Croatia (AIH) on Monday called on the government to continually support the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and condemn all
violations of human rights in the name of security after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States. AIH organised the signing of a petition to the government which is requested, among else, to ensure the enforcement of justice, respect the rule-of-law, and protect the fundamental human rights of every citizen of the world, especially following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The government is also requested to respect the right to asylum, protect the rights of refugees, and act towards preventing the non-punishment of grave violations of human rights and international humanitarian laws, and to strengthen international cooperation in the promotion and protection
