ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) - Following parliament's ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with the European Union, Croatia should finally establish "an efficient system of consumer protection," which it is bound
to do by Article 74 of the SAA, the Croatian association for consumer protection "Potrosac" said on Thursday. Along with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia, Croatia still does not have a basic legal framework for the establishment and operation of a system of consumer protection, the association said in a statement. Croatia still does not have a consumer protection council, or national or annual programmes for the protection of consumers, and is not implementing the existing law on consumer protection, the association said.(hina) sb rml
