SARAJEVO, Nov 28 (Hina) - The European Integrations Minister of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dragan Mikerevic, said the Interstate Cooperation Council between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina will not be discussing the agreement on property

SARAJEVO, Nov 28 (Hina) - The European Integrations Minister of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dragan Mikerevic, said the Interstate
Cooperation Council between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina will
not be discussing the agreement on property rights issues "until
Croatia passes a new law which would settle property issues and the
tenancy rights of Croatian citizens".
Mikerevic even told the Banja Luka-based "Nezavisne novine" daily
that because of this problem Bosnia would file a lawsuit against
Croatia before the European Human Rights Court "as soon as Bosnia-
Herzegovina enters the Council of Europe".
Mikerevic cited a conclusion which was allegedly made at a joint
meeting of state and entity officials who discussed the economic
situation in Bosnia in Sarajevo on Sunday.
Sources close to the Bosnian Council of Ministers say, however,
that such a conclusion was not made, and Mikerevic's statement was
primarily interpreted as an attempt to represent the interests of
the Bosnian Serb entity.
Property rights issues between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina have
not yet been solved mostly because authorities in Banja Luka are
refusing to recognise the right of ownership of Croatian companies
over real-estate which are now on Republika Srpska territory.
The real-estate was, during and after the war, mostly illegally
nationalised and then partially privatised.
The Interstate Council should be convening in Zagreb on December 11
to discuss the border issue between Croatia and Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
