PRISTINA, Nov 27 (Hina) - Kosovo is "de facto independent, with the presence of the international community and NATO troops," Kosovo Democratic Alliance president Ibrahim Rugova told the Pristina daily Bota Sot of Tuesday. "We are now
expecting the formal recognition of Kosovo's independence and working on it," he said. Describing the recent general election as very successful, peaceful and dignified, Rugova said the people of Kosovo had passed another test, showing it is capable of organisation and adopting democratic principles of living. Asked to comment on Albanian Flag Day and Albanian Independence Day, Rugova said: "November 28th is a significant historic day for the Albanian people as a whole, and now we can say it is significant for Kosovo as a national holiday as well."
