National Catechism Office said in a statement Monday that the

The Office assesses the ongoing public debate on the issue as biased
and criticised the media for not asking for an opinion of the Office
relating to catechism and religious education in kindergartens.
"It is utterly concerning that these individuals or circles in the
debate on catechism are avoiding those who should be asked first and
whose rights should be respected, and these are parents and
children", the Office said, and added the people entrusted by
parents with raising their children also fall in this category -
priests, catechists as well as those who, on behalf of bishops and
HBK, are responsible for religious teachings in kindergartens and
catechism in schools.
"If one can chose foreign language and other curricula, why not
offer the religious education curriculum?" the statement read.
