ZAGREB, Nov 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Student Corps (HSZ) has collected 30,000 students' signatures within 15 days of a petition called "The Big No" and will discuss students' difficulties and demands with President Stipe Mesic later
on Monday. The corps expects to be received by Prime Minister Ivica Racan this week as well, HSZ president Marko Potrebica told reporters. There are 118,000 students in Croatia, including approximately 70,000 full-time ones, and the 30,000 signatures indicate that students are backing HSZ's activities, he said. In "The Big No" the corps demands, among else, the government reintroduce child's allowance for 25,000 of the socially most endangered full-time students, and refrain from introducing a 36-percent tax on student labour, and paid studies.
