PODGORICA, Nov 17 (Hina) - Montenegrin Foreign Minister Branko Lukovac said on Saturday the results of the Montenegro referendum could not threaten stability in the region and the international community would support its outcome.
"The citizens' decision will not jeopardise stability in the region and we believe in Montenegro's equal position in relations with all former Yugoslav states. Independence is a precondition for full stability in Montenegro and for good and healthy relations with Serbia. Montenegro and Serbia can be an important factor of stability in the entire region on all levels," Lukovac said. Speaking about his participation in the annual session of the UN General Assembly, Lukovac said the agreement between senior Serbian and Montenegrin officials on the organisation of the referendum had been welcomed.(hina) rml
