ROME, Nov 16 (Hina) - Pope John Paul II on Friday received bishops and priests from Croatia and Bosnia who are taking part in the marking of the centenary anniversary of the Croatian Papal Institute of Saint Jerome in Rome. The
delegation included the president of the Bosnian Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, the president of the Croatian Bishops' Conference, Archbishop Josip Bozanic, rector of the Institute, Monsignor Jure Bogdan, and others. The former rector of the St. Jerome Institute, Mostar-Duvno diocese bishop Ratko Peric, greeted the Pope on behalf of the delegation. The Holy Father said the Institute had played a crucial role in the evangelization of dear areas of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and was a permanent evidence of the Pope's closeness to the Croatian people and of the Croatian people's devotion to the successor of Peter.(hina) np
