MOSTAR/SARAJEVO, Nov 8 (Hina) - A Yugoslav parliamentary
delegation arrived in Sarajevo on Thursday for a one-day visit to
Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The visit follows a trip a Croatian parliamentary delegation made
to the Bosnian capital earlier this week, and is assumed to be the
official Belgrade's response to that visit. Officially it has been
stated the visit is aimed at developing cooperation with Bosnian
state authorities and not the Bosnian Serb entity. The Croatian
delegation had also pointed out its visit was intended to promote
Bosnia's state institutions.
International officials, who wished to remain anonymous, maintain
the two trips are an announcement of Zagreb and Belgrade's new
involvement in the stabilisation of political processes in Bosnia,
without territorial aspirations.
These officials claim the Croatian and Yugoslav engagement is an
attempt to prevent the possible resurgence of radical political
forces before the autumn 2002 elections, the first to be organised
by Bosnia's institutions in line with a permanent electoral law.
