ZAGREB, Nov 8 (Hina) - About three hundred members of the Alliance of Independent Unions of Croatia (SSSH) and other trade unions have been rallying in front of the government building since 9am Thursday, voicing dissatisfaction with
the announced curbing of workers' rights and with the attitude of the government and employers towards collective negotiations. The SSSH holds that the attitude of the government and the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP) towards collective negotiations is unacceptable, as is the model of health and social reform and announcements that the new Labour Law would curb workers' rights. The unionists are also protesting because a law on the protection of debts to workers has not yet been passed and because the ruling coalition has not fulfilled its obligations from the Agreement for a Fair Croatia which it signed with union representatives before parliamentary elections.
