ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - Asking by MPs about the Croatian relations
with its neighbours Bosnia-Herzegovina and Slovenia, Premier Ivica
Racan answered on Wednesday that annexes to an agreement on the
special relations with the (Croat-Muslim) Bosnian Federation were
being drawn up, while the issue of the demarcation of the border
line with Slovenia would probably be forwarded to international
arbitration to solve it.
Responding to an MP's remark that the exchange of commodities with
Bosnia dropped from the ratio of one to 10, in favour to Croatia in
1999, to the current one to two, Racan said the ties between the two
independent countries could hardly be promoted on the grounds of
the previous ratio in the trade.
Commenting on the ties with Ljubljana, PM said he and his cabinet
abode by the initialled border agreement, but the document would
not be signed if it could not be verified by the Sabor, and judging
from the current state of affairs, this deal had slim chances of
being supported by Croatian parliamentarians, i.e. the ruling
collation's MPs.
Racan reiterated that the border issue would be settled by
arbitration if no agreement was possible.
