ZAGREB, Oct 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP) will announce an international bid invitation in The Financial Times for the sale of around 30 of 47 state-owned hotel companies in two weeks or by the end of the month at

It is still not known which companies will be offered for sale because those lists have not been completed yet but they are expected to include major firms such as the Opatija-based "Liburnija Rivijera Hoteli" group, the hotel company Zivogosce, the hotel company Korcula and others. HFP and the Tourism Ministry, in cooperation with the European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development and the German development bank
DEG are completing preparations for a long-term privatisation
project in Croatian hotel companies. The project would include
around 10 most valuable hotel companies, of which five new chains of
hotels would be formed. Every chain would specialise in a specific
branch of tourism and be sold when ready to similar world hotel
chains.
